I don’t have any REAL finishes this Friday. At least not ones from this week. So I thought I’d share a couple of finishes from my long hiatus from blogging. My grandma’s birthday was in September and i made her these oven mitts and a apple-shaped potholder to go with it. All of her dishes have apples on them and since I was a kid I’ve associated apples with grandma.
I even made a little leaf-shaped tag thingy! Woo. Crafty as hell over here.
I intended the log cabin and the star to be “wonky” but I’m not sure it translates that way very well. With just one of each it just kinda looks like I did a crap job. Oh well, grandma loves them anyway!
I had another friend that had a birthday recently. I got him these neat grass blade-shaped pens and I made him a little mini quilt to go with it. I forgot to get a picture of it when it was finished, though.
But here it is in most of its glory. It was my first attempt at making a paper-pieced design. I ended up cutting it so that the bottom didn’t look slanted.
I try to go “wonky” but I don’t think I go big enough to make it obvious, so it ends up looking messy. Oh well. Try, try again.
Linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts.
